In 2008, Jim Keiling faced a challenge every special needs parent knows: finding safe, reliable transportation for his daughter Patrice.
The options were few, the quality was poor, and the stress was constant. So Jim did what any determined father would do — he built the solution himself.

In March 2024, David Levitt acquired Real Life Choices. David's connection to this work is deeply personal — his sister Orli is a person with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
David spent 10 years volunteering at Pillar Care. He didn't just buy a business. He joined a mission.
Today, Jim continues as CFO, and together with David's drive to scale with excellence, Real Life Choices has become New Jersey's largest specialized transportation provider.

Founder & CFO
Jim founded Real Life Choices in 2008 for his daughter Patrice, who is a person with intellectual and developmental disabilities. What started as one father's determination became New Jersey's largest specialized transportation provider. Jim continues to lead the company's financial operations and remains deeply committed to the mission he started.
Owner & Operations Director
David acquired Real Life Choices in March 2024, bringing a personal connection to the mission — his sister Orli is a person with intellectual and developmental disabilities. After 10 years volunteering at Pillar Care, David joined RLC to scale the company with excellence while never losing sight of the families it serves. He leads marketing, business development, and strategic growth.
Recognition
In October 2025, Real Life Choices Transit was honored by Employment Horizons for partnership with the RISE program—helping meet transportation needs for career training for people with disabilities.
U.S. Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) also recognized RLC with a congressional certificate celebrating that award at the Employment Horizons Annual Recognition Dinner.
Real Life Choices serves 165+ families daily across 13 New Jersey counties on 35+ routes — at $0 cost to families for approved DDD trips.
